How to disinfect your lipstick?

Whether you can't recall the last time you've worn it,sometimes lipsticks need to be cleaned and disinfected. Rather than throwing out (and almost discontinued? because that happens) This four quick disinfecting tips can have it clean and ready.

Scrape off the top layer
Because the top layer can have residue such as air particles and lint, its best to scrape off that first thin layer. This can be done with a Q-tip or kitchen knife for a cleaner finish.

 Dip in alcohol
No surprise here, alcohol(vodka) is great at killing germs and bacteria. Dip your lipstick head (or entire applicator) into the alcohol, and let sit for 15 minutes.

Freezer Time
Freezing temperatures can also kill germs and bacteria. So putting your lipstick in the freezer overnight will have it ready for use by morning. Do not use it immediately or put back into your purse allow it to return to room-temperature.

Allow to air dry
Whether you dipped your lipstick in alcohol, placed in the freezer or both, let it air dry for about 20 minutes.
You're lipstick is now disinfected and ready for use!
