Day and Night smokey

Good morning reader, Today am going to go over a look I did sometimes last year, the aim of this eye makeup was to smoke the eye and still look subtle. It can serve as a day and night look.

Here are 5 easy steps to achieve this look;

1. Use a medium-sized round brush to apply a dark blue shadow in anarch shape just      above the crease of the lid. Then blend down to the lash line.

2. Trace the upperlash line with a soft black pencil, then gently smudge with your fingertip or brush.

3. With a smalller,firm-bristle brush, press a desired shadow shade into the lower lash line I used purple and nude brown.

4. Apply a pale silver powder to the inner corners of the eyes to lighten the overall effect

5. Apply mascara or false lashes for a more dramatic look.

Remember to clean up excess shadow without ruining your makeup, Dip a cotton bud in concealer, then skim it over the skin. The concealer will pick up shadow without smugdging.

How to prep the skin

Welcome to another interesting week, Mondays are always full of stress and most times the thought of wearing layers of makeup just upsets us. I am going to share with you three easy steps on how to care of our skin properly to get the right results so we wouldn't have to apply so much makeup to cover our facial flaws.

SKIN PREP
1.Begin with applying a toner on face and neck I recommend, (kuddy face toner) followed by a moisturizing cream I recommend (Nivea face cream) also applied to your face and neck.
2.You need to assess whether or not your skin is oily or dry and find a face cream suitable for your specific skin type. A visit to a Dermatologist will inform you on what your skin need, If your skin is dry you would need an intensive hydrating face cream, but if your skin is extra oily, you would need a face cream that is oil-free.
3. Apply a face toner with a cotton wool, Press your face cream into your face and neck do not rub. Pressing will ensure that you never break out from the pile up of too much cream and the pressing motion will bring back blood flow to the surface of the face giving you a natural, healthy glow.
It's pretty simple and in few minutes you are done, remember consistency is the key to visible results. If you have tried other methods do share with our reader.

Two easy remedies to grow the eyelashes

Are you concerned about your thin and scanty lash growth? Well you are not the only one. Long and fuller eyelashes makes every lady look more attractive, I personally have full and long lashes. False lashes are in vogue but I prefer wearing it only on special occasions.

So I figured a way to grow my lashes naturally, it's affordable and easy to get. I tried them on my lashes and I saw visible results after few weeks of consistency. Today am sharing my secret with you because I love you my amazing reader.

Here are two Remedies you can try at home;

1. Castor oil: It contains beneficial antibacterial and anti inflammatory ingredients which is very powerful in follicle stimulation. It is also good for the hair and eyebrow.

How to apply

I. Wash your eye area to cleanse it of any makeup you can use baby wipes if you have sensitive skin
II. Dip a cotton bud (Qtip) into the Castor oil and  apply directly to your lash from bottom to top before going to bed, leave it over night and rinse it off the next morning. You can do this for 2-3months
If you cannot get Castor oil you can use Virgin olive oil or coconut oil.

2.Eyelid Massage:  Massaging the eyelid increase blood flow to the hair  follicles and so more nutrients reach your follicles. It prevents breakage, you can do this every night, substitute it for itching our eyes and turning them red

Methods
I. Wash your hands first, use a few drops of coconut oil, petroleum jelly or shea butter then use your finger to gently massage along the eyelid and lash-line. Remember to apply little pressure but don't be so hard that you hurt yourself in the process. Massage everyday for few months to see results.

NOTE: If you suffer from any eye related issues consult a dermatologist before you use any product on your eyes. If you experience any irritation stop application immediately.
Do you have other remedies?  please do share with our readers.

Is your makeup Aging you?

This is a major problem to many ladies, most times you here people say "you better with no makeup", most times what they are trying to say is "you look younger" this was my problem until I tried a different means of applying my makeup.

Here are 10 mistakes that add 10years to your look

1. Using too much foundation: A foundation that is to thick will settle into fine lines, Foundation should be applied mildly. I would apply so much foundation to my face just to get those black spots gone but instead of looking flawless I looked aged and caked, until when I stopped covering every inch of my face, I only cover the discoloured part.
I stopped buying matte foundation and replaced it with illuminating foundation. If you have dry skin you can consider exfoliating twice or three times weekly.

2. Over concealing your under eye circles:  I wear glasses 24/7 so I have deep eyes which makes my dark circles more pronounced than it should be, you may think applying a whole lot of concealer will create that flawless under eye look but it will only age you. You should apply concealer only  near the inner corner of the under eye area, where shadows are most prominent.

3. Wearing deep dark lip colour : I try my best to avoid dark colours it makes my full lips fuller and takes the spot light off the other part of my face, yes dark colours make any surface look smaller perhaps the hip but definitely not the lips.

4. Finishing powder: Its almost impossible to see a flawless makeover without the help of a finishing powder, have ever been in a position where your makeup game is coming out strong and as soon as you add powder the face becomes caked up, if this happens you can try applying the powder to your Tzone (nose, chin, and forhead) then sweep the leftover on the brush across your face.

5. Wearing black liner: This does not mean you should erase liner completely from your look, liner gives the eyes   sharper effect remember you want to define the eyes with softness not strick lines.

6. Excess lip liner: A lip liner should serve as guide for the application of the lipstick it shouldn't be done in excess it would only make you look older.

7.Excess Mascara to the bottom lash: The aim of Mascara is to uplift the eyes so when you apply  too much on the lower lash it's gives your eye a dropping effecting and no I don't mean drop death grog.

8. Skipping Blush: I love the effect Blush gives to the face and at a point I went over broad and it wasn't funny, your Blush should be applied to the most fleshly part of your cheek. If applied correctly it can offer a little lift and contouring might not be needed.

9. Apply lipstick straight from the tub: The secret is really simple to avoid a colour bleeding lips apply the lipstick first to the center of the lips and blend out with a finger or a brush.

10. Dark eyebrow pencil: Did you know the brow colour fades as you age, always choose a pencil a shade or two lighter than your natural brow colour.  If you have a full brow you can use a brow gel first.
